DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATIONS Department: Development JOB SUMMARY The Director of Development Communications leads the development of strategic, donor-centered communications that advance the mission and philanthropic priorities of One More Child . This role translates organizational priorities, program impact, and funding opportunities into compelling proposals, stewardship communications, appeals, and other cases for support. Through exceptional writing, creative thinking, strategic collaboration, and effective project management, the Director develops high-quality communications, strengthens proposal resources and processes, and ensures philanthropic messaging is accurate, consistent, compelling, and aligned with One More Child ’s mission, voice, and strategic vision. Role Location: Remote position with location based within reasonable driving distance to a One More Child Campus in Florida. Florida campus locations include Lakeland, Jacksonville, Bradenton, Sarasota, Gainesville, and Miami. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS Develops a high volume of compelling, donor-centered proposals in collaboration with Philanthropy Officers and organizational leaders. Develops, organizes, and maintains a comprehensive library of proposal templates by program and ask type, incorporating current organizational information, program descriptions, outcomes, impact data, and other relevant content. Partners with the Marketing and Communications Department to ensure philanthropic writing is consistent with the organization’s strategic vision, messaging, voice, and brand. Collaborates with the Strategic Operations Department to ensure the accuracy and consistency of impact numbers, outcomes, and other relevant data across all philanthropic communications, including stewardship pieces, proposals, letters, appeals, and impact reports. Drafts warm, professional, and mission-aligned letters, acknowledgements, and thank-you note templates for use by the President and Development team. Provides writing support for appeals and donor communications, including first-time donor, monthly donor, pre-lapsed, and other stewardship programs. Works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to develop messaging, themes, and content strategies for communications supporting donor acquisition and stewardship. Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple projects and deadlines to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time. Establishes measurable goals and performance indicators for key philanthropic communications and uses results to inform and improve future communications. Follows established project management processes, workflows, and conventions within Asana to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and project completion. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, professional writing, creative writing or related area (or equivalent experience). Experience in using design platforms such as Canva, Photoshop, PowerPoint, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
